APPLICATION

The ENI-PM110/400 converter is intended as a power supply source of the passenger cabin ventilation systems in underground rail (subway) vehicles.

DESIGN

The converter is contained within a rectangular steel sheet enclosure. The enclosure is preserved by powder coating for improved resistance to operation and environment. The converter is mounted with two brackets located on its base. The electric connection terminals are housed in a terminal box located on the left top wall panel of the device enclosure. The back wall features a heat sink which dissipates heat from the power components. The front panel is removable for service access to all internal components. The converter requires forced air circulation for proper performance. The air is driven by the fan of the unit in which the converter is installed. All materials meet the relevant standards for non-flammability, safety of use and environmental protection. The supply, output and control voltage connections are confined in the terminal box. The connections are made with 6.3 mm wide flat plugs.

OPERATION

The converter transforms 110 VDC input voltage to rated 3 x 400 V, 50 Hz AC voltage, and the output voltage is adjustable. The input voltage passes an input filter and enters the voltage step-up block (to generate the intermediate voltage). The intermediate voltage is then processed in a three-phase IGBT inverter. The control system defines the PWM for the inverter to output sine-wave voltage.
