Anti-collision system in Cityrunner trams in Łódź

A test of the anti-collision system, which was installed in the Cityrunner tram operated by MPK-Łódź took place on the Łódź tracks. The system was produced by Bosch, Enika’s role in this project was to supply the system to and integrate it with our equipment.

The anti-collision system is designed to assist the driver and reduce the risk of collision. It identifies objects that could be on the collision track with the tram. In a collision risk situation the tram driver is first warned by a light signal on the control panel and then by a sound signal and in the second step the tram starts to brake. If the test is successful, another 6 trams will be equipped with the system.
