Modernization of the SM42 locomotive to the 6Dh1 Alf type

As part of the modernization of the SM42 shunting locomotive, Enika delivered a set of power electronics and control devices for the modernized diesel shunting locomotives. Enika designed and implemented a control system for a diesel locomotive based on the following devices:

• ENI-PLC/DBC locomotive main controller
• ENI-PP2000/DBC/2 main generator rectifier
• ENI-PP100/DBC auxiliary generator rectifier
• ENI-URP-2/DBC main generator excitation regulator
• ENI-URP auxiliary generator excitation regulator
• auxiliary inverters to power the compressor, fans, etc. ENI-FL40/DBC
• touch panels for ENI-PO1024/768/2 driver’s desks

The effect of the modernization is lower consumption of fuel and consumables, and improvement of the driver’s working conditions. The vehicle has been equipped with additional functionalities, e.g. a remote control system and a new anti-slip system. The visibility from the cockpit and the ergonomics of the driver’s workplace have also been improved. Sets of devices for the modernization of diesel locomotives are systematically ordered and delivered to Tabor Dębica.
